hello again y'all!
so we were told to blog more often so now you have to listen to me rambel for the second time this week! suckersss
So we took a lovelyyyy overnight bus ride from hervey bay to Airlie beach... and it was onlyyy 14 hours long! well hwo's jealous? no no? no takers? i dont blame you. we were some of thelucky kids who actually got two seats to our selves so we could pass out for a few hours at a time and sleep, we got to airlie at 9 am and checked into our hostel after a few fights and phone calls to our booking agent. were in a 8 bed dorm/ cabin with a few other kids. good timesss! Airlie is a small place mostly just used by travelers to work on tans, book advnetures onto the great barrier reef or break up their even longer bus ride all the way to cairns. we had a pretty laid back day of wandering around, shopping a bit for chriostmas presents, and of course doing 3$ digerredoooo lessons. what you ask is a digerredoo? well its obvesiously a aborigional music instrument tall we me made of wood and hallowed out by termites and painted in shapes and patterns with different meanings and costing between 200 and 800$! course! haha we went to a small local store and with a big group they taught us how to play them adn make some pretty steller noises out of them!
them today we jumped out of a plane.
haha yup! we have both sucessfully completed our flrts skydives, im not going to lie im offically addicted to a dangerous and very costly new sport! haha it was awesome we got to fly in a small plane over the reef and see the islands and the beautiful ocean. it was an amazing view and the first few seconds are freewfall from teh plane were so exciting and a bit scary when i realised i had just jumped out of a plane, but super cool either way! we both did it tandom with a trained pro and dont worry dad i made sure to ask if my parachout had a 100% success rate before we left the ground! haha
everyone should give it a try some time definatly worth the money and such a good feeling when your shoot opens!
anyway we have a big day of checking out of our hostel and going on a three day sailing tour tomorrow so i must be offto pack, eat, eat, ahve a drink, eat, drink, pack, and go to sleep!
much love and happy flying, will write again when we land from sailing stop. miss you all stop
haha we are literally havin the time of our lives i think im still high from that flight and jumping out of a plane!

ReplyDelete-jules the special kid
Hello my two crazy, fun-loving nieces,
ReplyDeleteOh, the stories you've told! So did you get to go snorkelling on the GB Reef? That way you would see the sights from above (while skydiving) and from below looking up! I once did parasailing in the Dominican Republic, but didn't take advantage of the skydiving excursion in Cuba. It was all about trusting the tour operators there. But, I think that I would try it in a different situation. I did go up in a hot air balloon in Egypt though, and that was a thrill beyond compare. I think the digerado is best compared to the Swiss horn for size and strange sounds! Somewhere I have a tape or cd with aborignal music from Australia...I wonder if I left that at school when I retired?
Glad to know you're sooooooooo much better than in your last posting on the blog and that whatever made you ill has not hindered your incredible sense of adventure.
I would like a cuddly koala for Christmas, please sneak one in your backpack for me. Marcel wants a platypus and Oncle Papa will settle for a wallaby. If you can't fit them in, or if they start to fight among themselves, a postcard will do!
Hugs!
